Douglas Lindsay is currently Associate Principal Trumpet with the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras. As a soloist, he has performed with the National Symphony of The Dominican Republic, The City Hall Orchestra of Kharkov, Ukraine, The Wittenberg University Orchestra, The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Cincinnati Pops, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. As a Chamber Musician, Douglas performs with the Cincinnati Pops Brass, Blechblaser Zinzinnati, and the Bach Ensemble of Saint Thomas.
In 1984 Douglas completed his Bachelor of Music degree from Baldwin Wallace College, studying with James Darling and Mary Squire, and then spent a year at Manhattan School of Music studying with William Vachianno. In 1985, Douglas was appointed Principal Trumpet of Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de la Republica Dominicana. From 1987 to 1990, Douglas was a member of the Dayton Philharmonic and in 1990 he spent a year with the Charlotte Symphony. In 1991 Douglas became a member of the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras.
Douglas is currently Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Miami University and is Founder and Director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Institute.
